Rates Remissions and Postponements

The categories for which ratepayers can apply to seek financial assistance for the payment of rates include:

• Remissions for land 50% non-rateable
• Remission of penalties on rates
• Remission of rates on land protected for natural, historic, or cultural conservation purposes
• Remission of rates on land subject to natural calamity
• Postponement due to financial hardship
• Remission and postponement for business and economic development.

The Rates Remissions and Postponements Policy outlines the conditions and criteria that are required. Each application is considered on a case-by-case basis. A copy of the Policy can be downloaded here. Please ensure you provide all of the information required with your application.
