The Regional Council’s Land and Water Plan allows for a wide range of activities to be undertaken by the public, provided all of the conditions are met. Council needs to be aware of where permitted activities are taking place to ensure that they are not affecting or being affected by other activities.
These works need to be notified to the Council at a time prior to the works commencing. If Council is not informed before the activity takes place, the conditions of the permitted Rule are not met and a resource consent will be needed. In some instances, this may even result in action being taken by the compliance team.
For the list of activities below, it is required to notify the Council before starting the activity.
